Just a reminder that today on CBC’s Definitely Not the Opera, I’m going to be telling a story about the time I showed up to school wearing what I’m wearing in the above photo. It’s the rule breaker episode. I believe my story is on last, which will be around 3:45 pm or 3:50 pm local time. Listen online if you’re not in a country that has CBC. LISTEN! They said they’ll give me the audio once it’s all done, so when I have my hands on it, I’ll try to post it to my website.
I must say. It was really nice to be back in a studio.
Good look, right?
I forgot to mention this article I wrote about Maximum Fun and Stop Podcasting Yourself. I’ve been busy writing lately. Phew.
Last night was my last “assignment” for Tourism Vancouver. (In quotes because it really doesn’t feel like work.) It was an event called Eat 1 Act 1, where you go out for dinner and then see a Push Festival play. I’m gonna write all about it for their blog.
Tristan was my guest.
He’s really fun to stare at hang out with.
It was the first time I’d been to the Irish Heather’s new location. It was decently tasty. Afterwords, I went to see Bonanza. I went in with zero expectations but was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t like anything like I’d seen before, which is a good thing for theater.
My friend Dante was in town for his 30th so I swung by there after but didn’t get any pictures. Can’t believe I’ve known him for 10 years! He’s top shelf.
This has been one of the busiest weeks of the year, so far, and I am thoroughly enjoying every minute of it. Boring, right?

That enormous cat right there is one of Dutchie’s tightest buds.
Sick at home, kind of restless, figured I’d post some photos of the last few days.
I went on a delightful 24-hour trip to Victoria…
Stayed with Marc Dugus. This photo, from his bathroom, speaks volumes about what kind of guy he is.
Went for a walk on one of my favourite beaches and had somewhat close to a religious experience. The divinely good kind.
Then I ate at my favourite restaurant of all time. Then I went home.
Oh, I wrote this for Canadian Press. It’s about Skateistan. Here’s a pic I took of Erika while I was on Skype with her.
That is it. Seriously. Slow news days.

Inspiration (Bored.)
So my writing partner/dear friend Ayma went to Mexico recently and brought me back the above: a rape whistle shaped like Jesus on the cross. On the back it says “Protect Us.” It’s a fitting gift since her and I are in a sketch comedy thingamado called Rape Whistle Fan Club.
Things have been busy as usual and it’ll probably stay that way until eternity. I’m in the middle of organizing two work-related trips. One involves a roadtrip, the other, total seclusion. Looking forward to them both.
I wrote this for the Canadian Press. I’d like to hear your first-time pet experiences. Apparently, depression isn’t that uncommon for first time pet owners. Things with the Dutchmeister and I are moving along swimmingly…she’s without a doubt, my animal soul mate. She is everything I could have hoped for in a dog. Except she’s totally obsessed with me. We’re working on making her a little more open to other people. Tips?
Going to get ready for Dine Out Vancouver’s media preview. I’ve been starving myself all day so I’m hungry and excited. I hope I pace myself because I do tend to stuff my face with little caution…I’ve been looking forward to this all month.

Nike SB
In my three years at the Canadian Press, the article I was most proud of was the one above. I think it was a slow weekend (I worked weekends) and I wanted a reason to check out Nike’s premier skate video and so I somehow made a story out of it. I remember being so frustrated that Nike turned down my request to be interviewed because I wasn’t “core” media. But I have to give them credit. They know exactly what they’re doing. Hence the video below.
Yummy.
