Rolling steep

Click here to read I’m a Good Story.

So I’m moving out of town this week and I’m feeling surprisingly on top of things. Haven’t felt overwhelmed. Yet. I have a couple more days to get things done and I have a good feeling I’ll be a-o-k.

When I haven’t been packing and cleaning and tying up loose ends, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my city and its surrounding areas.

Oh before we get to that, click here to read something I wrote about reality shows in Vancouver. Click click click. Please.

Okay. Photos of me having fun…

…eating dim sum with Jenni Lee Nelson.

Or more specifically, cloud buns.

Uncle Kier!

Holy cow, it’s Cactus Katie! And her fantastic band, Safety Show!

The Breakfast Club.

Baby on a drum!

Hooray for sweaty armpits!

I took Leah on a Harbour Cruise.

On the most perfect day Vancouver’s ever seen.

Then we ate waffle sandwiches and drank flavoured milk.

I went for a walk with Kyla who said this reminded her of a gaping lady vagina.

She happened to look hot.

Me having a hard time deciding which of the 281 flavours of ice cream I wanted.

Look whats’ going on here with Ayma.

Get it?

I went to Victoria for 24 hours to visit Tarina, pictured here looking like an 80s journalist.

We stayed somewhere with a really pretty view.

We also visited my favourite beach.

Dogs.

Visited Beacon Hill park, where I practices a bird mating call I learned on this birding tour I did in Muskoka a few months ago. This guy and another guy ended up battling over me. I didn’t get any shots because I was right in the middle, trying to protect myself from their sharp talons. It was crazy!

My neighbours and I had a yard sale. Mostly we just dressed up in other people’s stupid clothes and drank beermosas (Lucky Strike beer with Sunny D. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.)

Yoga’s clearly come in handy.

Boys are stupid.

Today was our last day volunteering at the hospital for a while. We were pretty sad.

I want to make a joke about carrying my heart in your pocket, above your heart in a pocket…sleeve? What am I getting at? (That’s my card.)

Okay, that’s it. What’s new with you?

Time to post photos!

Click here to read I’m a Good Story and click here to listen to the People’s Program Project.

I’ve done a bunch of work today and I should be doing some more but I just don’t have it in me.  So I’ll be posting to my blog, thank you very much.

It’s been really nice being back in Vancouver. I was so surprised by how many people were happy to see me. Nice to be missed. Now I’m trying to figure out how I can be based in two places, and where those two places will be. Vancouver is one, for sure. Not too sure where the other will be. Suggestions?

In terms of stuff I’m working on/have worked on…I wrote this for CP, which is about a fun/nerdy event happening this weekend. I’m working on a project with Chris Jacot, which we hope to air for the last ever episode of the People’s Program Project. What, you’re thinking. That’s still around? Well, technically it is but since it’s so infrequent I decided to try and put out one last podcast and call it a day (well, two years and 27 episodes.) I’ve lost the passion and drive for that particular podcast, but I still plan on putting out some other podcast-related stuff in the (hopefully) near future. I’ll keep y’all posted on when the last episode of P3 goes up, and I’ll be sure to excessively promote the other podcast I’ve slowly been working on.

If my writing is currently any indication, I’m very tired. So here are some photos.

Ayma had a party for Kate-Lynn. I spent a good chunk of the night having a heart to heart with Ayma, while she wore that ridiculous hat.

Speaking of ridiculous hats.

This was a good day.

Lisa Joyce having a hard time deciding if she’s having fun or not.

This was a good day too. We felt like we were in a cock fighting ring , or were five-years-old, while we looked up to order.

The other day I was thinking about someone I want to have the ol’ in and out with, and I looked up and saw this. Sign?!?!?!?!

This isn’t the first photo of Miranda and I taken in front of cool wallpaper.

And despite being a former model who doesn’t like haven’t his photo taken, here’s one of one of my all time favourite people, looking quite photogenic.

Come What May

Click here to read the latest installment of I’m a Good Story. Click here for the latest episode of the People’s Program Project.

The above photo is dedicated to that fine, young man I met on Friday. That’s about all the effort I’ve got.

Here’s a bunch of photos and attempts of witty commentary of some decent to good times that have been inspiring me lately…

I went to the wiener dog races for the second year in a row…

…with these two fine looking cats…

…wiener, wiener, wiener…

…wiener, wiener, wiener…

…WIENERS!

I hope when I grow up, I turn into this lady.

I spent a lovely afternoon somewhat recently with my two lovely friends and a lovely spread, courtesy of Olivia Mowatt, rad mom extrodinaire.

Did you know that Louise Burns is a major babe? Here’s proof.

Olivia levitated for a bit.

Group shot, which consists of 80% ME!

Ayma and I were in LA……where lots of interesting things happened…

…Matt loves me…can’t you tell?…

…I was trying to make this shot kind of like an upskirt…

Matt threw us a party, that mostly consisted of the Amazing Alphabet People’s Coalition and friends…

…and Nathan (and his roommate Levi, not pictured.)

It turned into a dance party, naturally.

The next night we got to see my friends Wolf Parade perform. I’d never seen them live so it was a real treat. It was the final show of their North American tour.

It had been a long, long time since I was last backstage at a show. How times have changed.

Hi Ayma! Just how big was it?

Speaking of Ayma…I love her. Can’t wait to do more writing. Look out world. Here we come!

I came home to my best friend Chris, who’s staying with me. He leaves me reminders of this fact throughout my apartment.

I think that’s about it. Well, it’s not, my life is waaaay more interesting than a blog entry but that’s all I got for now. I’ll leave you with a video I’m really feeling. I love the story, the costumers, the set design and her boobs.

As of Late

I think my fascination with Hipstermatica is dying.

I’ve been meaning to post links to things that are awesome. But I’ve been waaaay too busy eating chocolate.

My writing partner Ayma did this when she was 13, when she was still a wee little friendly Yukonite forest animal. Look how cute she is! I full on laughed out loud at the end.

I forgot how much I love the Deadly Snakes. This song is speaking to me these days.
(I get to see Andre and his lovely wife Kai this summer at an epic wedding!)

07 Let it All Go

I think I forgot to mention that I wrote this a few weeks ago. Someone told me it was on the cover of the Metro. I guess that’s exciting.

Check this out…

Special right?

Another thing that’s awesome that’s not really a link? Being complimented. I’ve had some really nice compliments lately. Some of my favourites?

One of my editors called me beguiling. (I had to look it up.)

Someone else (whose bones I totally want to jump) called me intriguing. (That fed the ego.)

And a sort of stranger called my writing “next level shit.”

My favourite compliment of my life: I was an usher in university and Rafi was performing at the venue where I worked. I had this hairband that had flowers on it so it looked like I was wearing a ring of daisies in my hair. I was wearing it the night of Rafi. This one little girl, who was probably six, just stared at me in awe. Her teacher later came up to me and told me the girl had asked her if I was a princess. I’ll never forget that.

Makes a girl feel special! Seriously, keep ‘em coming.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received?

We’ve arrived!

Here is Rape Whistle Fan Club’s debut! Well, the debut was actually on Friday as part of Music Waste’s video competition. Here’s a photo of us chatting with the judges…

…and a photo of the judges…

…all of whom I have a connection to. Here was our bit…Bob on the right, is my co-worker. Paul in the middle, I’ve made out with. And Taz on the end, I’ve slept with (because we used to date.) So we told them that if our video didn’t win, it means I’m a shitty worker, a bad kisser and a terrible lay. Like I said, we didn’t win. But we still had fun!

What else? Mother Lev is in town. Here’s a photo of her and my dog…

OH! I’ve launched my column, I’m a Good Story, as its own website. Click here and check back every Thursday for a new one! Also, send it to everyone you know. Even your weird neighbour!

Tomorrow I’m being flown to Toronto for this amazing press tour thing. I’m really excited. I’ll provide more details upon my return later this week. It’s going to be a busy few days. But I’m sooooo excited! You’ll understand why once I’ve filled you in…soon, soon.
