The sun’s out

I’m inside on a sunny day. Mother Lev is arriving soon so I should probably vaccuum or something. Thought I’d update the ol’ blog.

I’m so close to finishing the last episode of the People’s Program Project. My enthusiasm for podcasting has really declined in the last few years so it’s hard to get off my depressed ass and do it but I hope to have it out there in the next week or so. It’s a chat I did with Nardwuar, who was just profiled in XXL and is blowing up. His entertaining interview with Odd Future on Youtube has gotten more than a million hits. ‘Bout time.

Working on a couple of interesting stories that I’m pretty excited about, but mostly taking it easy. So grateful for sunshine.

Here’s some pictures as of late.

Got out of town for a few days. This was the one hour it wasn’t raining.

That’s okay, ’cause there’s always huckleberry pie.

MAC had a party. Mostly, people were taking photos of the model’s genitals.

Louise performing makes me question my sexuality.

A rare photo of mother and child.

And this, by far, was the most exciting moment of my summer.

Yeah, low energy here in this corner. Hoping that will change. I should get some pants on and get going.

Dooey Do Do Opt

What’s the perfect amount of time to spend in front of the computer? Is there a perfect amount of time? I feel like I spent too much time in front of the computer. Which is why this will be short. And mostly of photos.

Also, I’ve been feeling weird lately about writing in general. I’m currently trying to figure out my voice. It’s an intense and strange process.

Anyhow, in so many words…

Perfect palette.

Perfect mystery companion.

Perfect dog.

The best part of the Cheaper Show VIP party.

This was a close second.

Galaxy-core?

The most creative shot I got from Mini Makerfaire.

Miranda is copying Dutchie’s expression, successfully.

This is what heaven looks like.

This is the carefree summer walk.

If I had to give this one a title, I’d call it “Dishwasher Hideaway”.

Trails ahoy!

Time to post photos!

Click here to read I’m a Good Story and click here to listen to the People’s Program Project.

I’ve done a bunch of work today and I should be doing some more but I just don’t have it in me.  So I’ll be posting to my blog, thank you very much.

It’s been really nice being back in Vancouver. I was so surprised by how many people were happy to see me. Nice to be missed. Now I’m trying to figure out how I can be based in two places, and where those two places will be. Vancouver is one, for sure. Not too sure where the other will be. Suggestions?

In terms of stuff I’m working on/have worked on…I wrote this for CP, which is about a fun/nerdy event happening this weekend. I’m working on a project with Chris Jacot, which we hope to air for the last ever episode of the People’s Program Project. What, you’re thinking. That’s still around? Well, technically it is but since it’s so infrequent I decided to try and put out one last podcast and call it a day (well, two years and 27 episodes.) I’ve lost the passion and drive for that particular podcast, but I still plan on putting out some other podcast-related stuff in the (hopefully) near future. I’ll keep y’all posted on when the last episode of P3 goes up, and I’ll be sure to excessively promote the other podcast I’ve slowly been working on.

If my writing is currently any indication, I’m very tired. So here are some photos.

Ayma had a party for Kate-Lynn. I spent a good chunk of the night having a heart to heart with Ayma, while she wore that ridiculous hat.

Speaking of ridiculous hats.

This was a good day.

Lisa Joyce having a hard time deciding if she’s having fun or not.

This was a good day too. We felt like we were in a cock fighting ring , or were five-years-old, while we looked up to order.

The other day I was thinking about someone I want to have the ol’ in and out with, and I looked up and saw this. Sign?!?!?!?!

This isn’t the first photo of Miranda and I taken in front of cool wallpaper.

And despite being a former model who doesn’t like haven’t his photo taken, here’s one of one of my all time favourite people, looking quite photogenic.

Wordless

I’m gonna post photos of the past month or so. I’m all pooped out of words.

My favourite part of being in Toronto.

Meadow near my folk’s place where I go to relax and reflect and take goofy photos of myself.

A private show from Jenna brings me to tears.

The Frey’s make me feel happy.

Slindsay got married!

Got to go out into the wilderness for a few days. Did a whole lot of nothing.

Girl with a cigar.

And, we’ll finish things off with a dance party.

I’m back tomorrow, Vancouver. Apparently there’s some big sporting stuff going on and everyone’s real excited?

416 to the 905

Happy Mother’s Day, y’all. My mum’s in the next room so I’ll refrain from writing a whole tome about how much I adore her.

Instead I’ll just post some picture of my time here, which has been eventful but not in the hanging your head outside of a limo, yelling “whooohooo” kind of way. Pretty low key. Mostly going to the gym and jogging and writing and reading.

Sarah and Chris and Barclay were in town. Good timing.

My friend Jess organizes this trivial night called Trivia Newton John. Andrew was on my team.

So was Jenny!

Naturally, our team won. I didn’t contribute to that fact at all.

But mostly I’ve been hanging with my folks.

Doing things like this. It’s been pretty nice. Certainly much needed.

That’s it. Nothing terribly exciting going on. Building up some big pitches, building up my brain power. Trying to change the tint of my glasses from grey to rose. That was my main reason for coming here. It’s certainly been a process.

Quite a few things on the agenda today. Mom walk. Hoping to check this out. Then dinner at Ronit’s, who’s house has been my getaway when I need to get away from North York (which is every few days.)
