Here we go here we go here we go

Ok, so just a quickie to let you know I’m going to be live on CBC Radio 3 this afternoon at around 2:45 p.m. Pacific Time. I’ve been told not to be nervous so I’ll do my best. A few years ago, one of my favourite people of all time gave me the best advice ever. “Just do your thing.” So I’ll do my best to do that. Let me know what you think, ok?
Nothing too exciting to report as of late. It was a bunch of people’s birthday the other day…
Heh…Katie’s spinning a disco ball like a basketball.
This weekend I got out of town, climbed a mountain and took a nap atop.

Oh what a beautiful morning

Above is a dessert I made that my mom invented. It’s a lemon/banana mousse, that we officially titled “Moussa”, since it’s mousse and my mom, Rosa, invented it. I also attempted to do the CBC exploding pizza logo with strawberry slices, but it turned out really scaled back. Anyhow, I made the dish for a Blazing Pussies reunion I attended a few weeks back…
I was showing them a really embarrassing YouTube video by someone I once knew that I hope to turn into a sketch one day.
So, not too much going on with me. I took the month off to focus on this pilot segment for Radio 3, but it turns out it hasn’t taken too much time to put together (though it’s not complete yet) so I feel like a big moron. In the meantime, I’ve been trying to figure out other aspects of my career, which should be fun but isn’t really. I dunno. This week’s I’m a Good Story pretty much sums up how I’ve been a-feeling.
But who cares. More photos?
Sometimes when I can’t sleep, this happens.
Slash and Lisa’s the week before (though this is still from Margeo’s) My friend’s are f-in hot.
Did y’all catch Phil Hanley on Craig Ferguson? I didn’t but thank goodness for the internet.
I wrote about my trip to Seattle for CP.
And now I have to get ready to go swimming. Before I go…what’s the best way to handle allergies? I feel ‘em coming and don’t like it.
Oh, and what’s the best way to handle numbness towards everything in general?

Bored on a Sunday
Click here to read I’m a Good Story and click here to listen to the People’s Program Project.
Kind of bored on a Sunday. Spent the morning taking my dog on three separate walks. Now I’ve got a few hours to kill before Sunday evening plans. Might as well post some photos ‘n stuff.
Last weekend I spoke on my first panel at the TMAC conference. (I wrote about it for I’m a Good Story.) It was a tremendously fun day. Travel writers are a wacky bunch. I think I need to work on my panelist skills but overall, really fun times. I got to play ping-pong and learn about travel writing etiquette and meet really swell people.
Went to Blim community market last Sunday with my two favourites.
My all time favourite caterer, Open Sesame, was there.
I got a Cowichan for $40. I think the technical term is “magic sweater”… it’s warmer than all my coats combined. I’m absolutely in love with it.
And her mummy Rukiya. Long overdue.
Last week I had a dream about snowmen. I woke up to tons of snow and an army of snowmen, everywhere. Trippy, maaaan.
Finally, my dog has really been branching out lately.
And…
She generally isn’t that interested in anyone or anything that isn’t me, so it’s heartwarming, and rare, to see her open up to other dogs. Glad I have evidence.
